some cali casual in December

I'm sure for you east coasters you'll probably think I'm a fool for what I'm about to say, but when flipping through my wardrobe to pick out an outfit to shoot I put on a trench, scarf, and boots but immediately had to take it off because of the F-ing whopping 75 degrees! I want rain and seasons! haha! Well anyways it resorted me to a black skirt with my new Brandy Melville crop (it was my first purchase there! I never did before because I never wanted to be toooo mainstream, ha), a Zara leather jacket, and my hometown kicks by Joshua Sanders Italy! I was still a little toasty, but couldn't betray winter in wearing a summer dress, oh my goodness listen to myself I'm a weather spoiled cali chick! Anyhoo, for keeping with a flow in an outfit, I can't stress more to be minimalistic!!! Picking a simple palate of colors that can work with anything, take black and white for example, just about every color can be a beautifully accented item! So keep it simple!! holiday it-list

I know we're coming down to the wire here with Hanukkah in four days and Christmas in thirteen (woohoo)!! But it's not to late for some of my fave stocking stuffers accessories! I've always had the hardest time picking out presents, because its always at the last minute you freak out and it doesn't totally click as being perfect, but tipping to you all just honestly keep it simple. Don't over do it, or overload it, so little meaningful gifts are key!!! Giving to me is so much more fun than receiving, (but duh I still love prezzies too!), but especially this year I've felt so grateful for all experiences that I've felt as though I've taken a big step in life when my mom asked me what I wanted I responded "IDK", I was like wow I'm seventeen and I'm not making a printed out christmas list, telling my mom it was an art project for school and accidentally leaving it at home so that she'd get the "hint" gracefully, HAHA oh the 12 year old ways. But anyways buying presents for those you love is SO much more fun, so treat them all this holiday. XOXO Haley Carrere

I Heart Jouer

First off when you walk in a drug store and load up on makeup, regardless of how big a brand is it certainly won't look this pretty. I mean come on, Jouer your makeup is spot on, and I'm loving it, I know all of you will too. I previously posted a look featuring me all dolled up in Jouer, done by the fabulous Niki Metz, (Jouer Executive Director of Artistry), and now I'm showing you what was used for it! Finally! To me makeup shouldn't be about covering up and hiding (maybe a little sometimes) but overall to me it's about enhancing! Especially this whole new trend of contouring, Niki really stretched upon how basically the old fashion way of simpler the better has worked for centuries and I couldn't agree more, who needs to walk around looking like a photoshop project! haha, well any who, Jouer's products are flawless in enhancing, I use the highlighter in the creases of my eyes, and the pretty subtle blush. It doesn't feel heavy, light and airy! Most foundations are super dense and uneven, but Niki introduced me to Jouer's tinted moisturizer, the perfect amount of coverage and protection, I pair it with a little face powder, some gloss, the starlight eye shadow, love love love, (ps remember tap it on don't rub it in! Makes a worlds difference!). Most of the photos above are pretty, pink and girly, I chose to interpret it in this way because to me this is what makeup and glitter screams! But don't be fooled! I had a pretty sick cat eye and dark liner, Jouer has it all! And the icing on the cake, drum roll, these MAKEUP BAGS! Seriously gorg! Soft leather and leopard, I even used them as clutches! What girl doesn't love being pampered, gifted, beautified, a recent afternoon was filled with that. I love faux fur, it's one of my biggest obsessions, slip ons, and clutches, so put together in one outfit makes me squeal! That feeling when you really love the outfit your in, girls you know what I mean! I got these new kicks in last week straight from Italy, by one of my new favorite shoe lines Joshua Sanders! Yep I'm repping my home town stomping grounds, LA! And for you east coasters there are some NY ones too! Pairing it with my year old H&M coat, most comfortable blouse by the wonderful Australian Label Asilio, and this shiny Oscar worthy (no pun intended) clutch by Okhtein, a line out of Cairo Egypt! Yep i'm pretty international in this look! It adds a really fun vibrant pop that suits a fall palette! So all around one of my fave looks! Sometimes I even save a good outfit to make sure you wear it on a good day, this was a good day. Thanks to my new fabulous friend Niki! She made me feel super special! Niki is a makeup artist, fabulous one at that, I got the great pleasure to meet with her and get me dolled up! She's a kind kindred spirit that lit me and my face up! After taking a peek at her Instagram, she works with some high profile people here in California, so I wasn't surprised as to how fabulous my look came out! We went with a darker eyes, loving it alongside the outfit I paired the look with. Niki was kind enough to bring me some goodies from the cosmetic line she works with, Jouer! giddy over golden goose

Here's a little casual outfit for today's post! For those of you who don't know it I love sneakers, slip ons, trainers, etc. From my white Nike's to my Superga's I love a good pair of kicks! I know many people think the same color on color can be a little to matchy and all but for this look I really like this Veda jacket and Vanessa Bruno dress together. And a leather jacket looks good with just about anything, I'm mean come on who doesn't love a good leather jacket? I'm not one to have a ton of navy in my closest, so when I spotted this two pieces I really loved them because it's a new look for me! Pre fall perfection !

The newest fall pieces came into DIANI Boutique and I swooned over it all! Amazing!! Fact: I took this outfit post on a Friday afternoon, in August, and it was 78 degrees. That's how much I love this outfit, that I was willing to bear the heat. So I must say it is pretty fabulous if I was willing to put it on in the CA weather! I just can't wait for Fall and all the fabulous things that fall into my closet, along with the leaves outside (lol). I styled this look off of a fabulous military uniform blazer that was my grandmothers, which sadly my mom didn't keep :(, so when I saw this brand new Smythe coat I knew I had to style it as my grandmother and her chic style did with hers! For winter/fall the top thing on my "Things I Need List" is thigh high boots, I'm slightly obsessed. So of course these Sergio Rossi boots made the cut, even though my legs were hot as hell I really didn't want to take them off!! For me I think simpler the better so I added in a pair of Goldsign Jeans and this Velvet cashmere sweater so that these statement pieces would really pop! Well there you have it folks!
